Year 2019 has been a mixed year in terms of good and bad movies. Even in liking few movies did great even when they were not worth it. In this post, I’m enlisting the top 5 Bollywood movies of 2019 which I felt were outstanding this year.

It’s a crime thriller movie bringing in light the social issues of rural areas and their sufferings. Ayushmaan Khurana has yet again proven his acting by his role as a young IPS officer with city upbringing. He encounters issues of caste bias and suppression of lower caste. The unravels the mystery of 3 abducted girls and brings forth the uncomfortable truth of our society.
It’s thought evoking movie & certainly not a light watch.
Section 375
It’s another movie that has covered the subject of Rape or “Section 375” of our judicial system. It has covered the complex topic as Rape. In the movie, Akshay Khanna & Richa Chadha as a defense lawyer and public prosecutor present two versions of the same story from a different perspective.
The movie has outstanding acting and good dialogue delivery. The movie is a must-watch.
“We’re in the business of Law not Justice”
Chhichhore
It’s a light movie covering the hostel & college life of the characters. This movie has brought forth a much-discussed topic of study pressure of competitive exams over the children of our country.
This movie is a well-directed movie that will make you remember your own college days and bring a smile on your face.
No one should miss this movie it’s a nostalgia trip to our “Good Old Days”
Uri: The Surgical Strike
It’s a remake of the surgical strike on Pakistan launch pads by India as a retaliation of terrorist attack on Uri which killed 19 Indian Soldiers in 2016.
It’s a well enacted & Well-directed movie. The movie has brought forth the hardship faced by Indian soldiers. They put their life on-line to save our country day in and day out. If this would fail to generate patriotism in you then nothing else can.
Gully Boy
The movie is based on the true story of The Gully Boy “Murad” who chased his dream to become a rapper despite the hardship and unprivileged background. It’s the story of his family and friends coming together to help him achieve his goal.
“Apna Time Ayegaa..”
I wanted to end the post at this only but there are many movies worth watching this year but I could add them to my top 5 so I’m mentioning them here coz they’re outstanding.

I hope your top 5 and mine has a few common movies. The year is about to end though in awaited movies like Dabangg 3 which might perform well (although I doubt it). Fingers Crossed for it and I hope the upcoming don’t give competition to my Worst Bollywood Movie 2019 List.
